About me

Hi! My name is Frederick Lepage. I am a recent grad in Computer Science from Mcgill University. I've worked extensively with web facing applications of all kinds. The internet is a fascinating place that has a lot of potential for good, and I work hard to create digital media and tools that bolster this camp. I've familiarized myself with a large array of technologies and languages over the years, but I'd say that I excel in object oriented programming (C#, Java) and Javascript (that can sometimes be OOP). I am also a part time video editor and video game developer. I am currently available for both freelance and part time work, and if any of this interests you, my contact information is below.

Developed internal software . Worked in C# and XAML. Created a customizable service which allowed technicians and employees to respond to real time data as well as observe archived data. Designed an interface which improved workflow by providing communication tools. Learned Front-end Design principles when designing a responsive interface for users.

Volunteered for a camp that taught children how to program and woodwork. Organized and lead activities for campers. Guided participants through coding and interaction with Arduinos. Helped spark interest in tech for elementary school kids.

Purgatory Cory

Collaborated with 5 others on a Game Jam where we had 48 hours to design and program a game. We used a Javascript Game Engine called Hexi. A lot of parts of the game engine were DIY, so we handled collisions, physics, and dynamic scene loading. This required us to put our heads together and find solutions to surpass the limitations of the engine. We slept very little and had a lot of fun. The game was hosted on itch.io. WARNING: themes of violence (13+).

Word Search Game

Created a Word Search Game in React Native as part of a Shopify Challenge. Developed several classes, controllers, and ui elements using javascript. Can be deployed on both IOS and Android devices using Expo (React Native converts JS to mobile native language). The Game generates a random map of words. The player must find all words that are described in the word bank to win!

Movie API Frontend

Created a frontend application in React Native for a Movie Database API. The app pulled the latest and trending movies and displayed them in a gallery. Utilized numerous get requests, state changes, controllers and views.

Eat Smart

Collaborated with three others on a full stack application utilizing a React frontend, and a Node, Express and MongoDB backend. Helped organize the project and develop code on both ends. The application has a user database and utilizes multiple API. It provides consumers with cost efficient ways to make a meal at home depending whats in their fridge/pantry, or find a restaurant within a certain budget (google maps API and Zomato). The project took several days to complete. It is hosted on Heroku but I suggest using FAKE user login info because the security API we used is not the greatest.

Nokia Game Jam 3 Contestant

Created a Unity based top-down shooter with friends from Quite Good. The competition required each contestant to submit a game that resembled the visuals and audio of a Nokia 3310 Phone. As a contributor, I helped brainstorm ideas, developed classes and functions in C# and designed art assets. We were very happy with the results and thrilled to learn Unity.
